King Khalid International Airport (KKIA) serves the city of Riyadh and is Saudi Arabia’s second-largest airport. Originally constructed in 1983, the airport was due for major infrastructure upgrades and modernization.

To update the KKIA infrastructure and expand it with new services and facilities, the Riyadh Airport Company engaged Almashrik. The project focused on Terminal 2, which is used for all departing and arriving international flights for Saudi Arabia’s SkyTeam alliance members, including the Saudia and Flynas airlines. The scope of work included construction work for the basement and foundation of Terminal 2 as well as passenger-facing upgrades for the check-in areas and terminal services and facilities.
